Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein today prayed for the safety of the passengers and crew in the helicopter that has been reported missing since today evening.

He conveyed the message through his social media pages.
“My family and I are praying to God for the safety of the passengers and crew of the helicopter that went missing in Sarawak,” he said.

Hishammuddin also said that he has instructed the Royal Malaysian Air Force and the Army to join the search-and-rescue operation for the helicopter.
The helicopter was reportedly headed to Kuching from Betong.
According to a Bernama report, the Director General of Civil Aviation ( DCA) Datuk Seri Azharuddin Abdul said the helicopter took off from Betong at about 4.12pm and was supposed to arrive Kuching around 5pm, Thursday.
DCA has launched search-and-rescue operations.
