A total of 77 individuals were arrested by the police on Friday for violating the directives of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).
Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the arrest was the result of 69,023 monitoring inspections by the Compliance Operations Task Force led by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
"Of these, 13 individuals have been remanded while another 64 compounded.
"Among the violations of the RMCO include the activities of contact sports (15 individuals), pub or night club activities (12 individuals) and activities that violate the SOP (50 individuals)," he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, through Ops Benteng, Ismail Sabri said police managed to arrest nine foreign nationals for immigration offences.
"The government will take decisive action against any party attempting to enter the country illegally and enforcement agencies will continue to tighten border controls especially in rat trails," he said.
