The woman driver who threatened an elderly man using a steering lock has been detained by the police for investigation.
Kuantan OCPD Asst Comm Abd Aziz Salleh said the 30-year-old woman was detained at 5pm today at the Kuantan police headquarters.
“The woman had come forward to assist in investigation and we have to detain her for the time being. Whether or not she will be held in remand would depend on the investigation,” he said when contacted by Astro AWANI.
It is learnt that the woman was detained under Section 427 of the Penal Code for causing mischief and Section 506 of the same Code for criminal intimidation.
Yesterday, Sim Siok Hong, a 67-year-old government pensioner had also came forward to give his statement at the Kuantan District Police Headquarters.
The incident occurred at about 1.10pm on Monday at the parking lot of the UTC, when the pensioner who was driving a Toyota car was reported to have knocked the left side of the woman's car.
The minor accident made the woman angry who then had grabbed a steering lock from Sim's car before knocking on his car.
It was reported that the woman had also grabbed the senior citizen by his shirt and seized his car key although her car only had scratches on the rear bumper.
The accident was recorded by members of the public who were at the scene and was uploaded onto several social websites.
