In conjunction with the 2015 Landy De Langkawi Geopark event, Jaguar Land Rover held a grand flag-off. By Jerrica Leong
We’ve heard of hatchback convoys and colourful convoys, but how many of us have witnessed a Land Rover Defender convoy before? Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) hosted a huge flag-off ceremony for the participants of the 2015 Landy De Langkawi Geopark event for 16 Land Rover Defenders that would convoy up to Kuala Perlis before crossing over to Langkawi.
The Landy De Langkawi’s main aim was to promote Langkawi Geopark as a leading destination for off-roading enthusiasts through the concept of eco-tourism. JLR took this opportunity to reconnect with Land Rover enthusiasts in the country.

Participants were treated to brunch at Sisma Auto’s newly completed Glenmarie dual-brand showroom before the flag-off. Thanks to the brunch, a long line of Land Rover Defenders created a sight to behold outside the showroom with a bright yellow 1979 Series 3 88-inch half-tonne lightweight Land Rover taking centre stage.

It was an opportunity for Land Rover enthusiasts to reconnect with each other and a chance for some family bonding time. JLR is proud to see that the Land Rover brand continues to enjoy goodwill due to its unique heritage.
