Roads around Bukit Bintang closed on Sunday
Several roads near Jalan Bukit Bintang will be closed in stages for the Chinese New Year Carnival at the Pavillion shopping centre on Sunday.
Kuala Lumpur traffic police chief ACP Rusli Mohd Noor said road closures would begin on Sunday from 12.01am before the roads are re-opened at 6pm.
He said the locations involved are the respective intersections of Jalan Raja Chulan/Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Imbi/Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Yap Thai Chi/Jalan Bukit Bintang and Jalan Gading/Jalan Bukit Bintang.
"The public can use alternative routes through Jalan Imbi, Jalan Yap Tai Chi, Jalan Gading, Jalan Walter Grenier and Lorong Walter Grenier," he said.
He also advised motorists to plan their journey and use alternative routes to avoid closed or diverted roads.
"Use public transportation, obey traffic regulations and instructions of police personnel, and bear in mind to avoid parking on roads involved in the event," added Rusli.
