Robbers escape with RM280,000 in jewellery at Lebuh Ampang

Four youths robbed a popular goldsmith shop in Lebuh Ampang here today, and escaped with jewellery worth about RM280,000.
The robbers wearing full-faced helmets and gloves struck the outlet at 2.42pm.
There were five workers at the counters during the incident.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said two of the robbers smashed the jewellery display showcase with a hammer and machete before escaping with two trays of jewellery.
The loot comprised mostly large and valuable rings.
