Rohingya man who fled quarantine centre rearrested
Ismail Sabri said the man was later re-admitted to the quarantine centre.
A Rohingya man who escaped from a COVID-19 quarantine at the Sultan Azlan Shah Ministry of Health Training Centre in Tanjung Rambutan on Sunday has been rearrested, said Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The man was later re-admitted to the quarantine centre.
"He has been rearrested and taken back to the hospital," he said at a press conference here on Tuesday.
On Monday, Ipoh district police chief Assistant Commissioner A Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the Tanjung Rambutan police station received a report of a missing man, identified as Rohim Mohd Zokoria, who was found missing by an officer at 11 am on Sunday.
The man was sent to the quarantine centre on Saturday after being arrested at a roadblock in Muallim.
