The prime minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor today handed over drinking water to 2,600 residents of Taman Alam Damai and Taman Desa Baiduri in Cheras, which are among areas affected by water supply disruption.
Joining the prime minister's wife in handing the 5.5 litre bottles of drinking water to the residents were 200 members of the Malaysian Girl Guides Association (PPPM) from a neighbouring school, the Serdang and Bandar Tun Razak Umno divisions and the Taman Desa Baiduri residents' association.
The contributors are Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas), which sponsored 3,000 bottles, Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (2,500 bottles) and Giant Retail Malaysia Sdn Bhd (1,000 bottles).
Rosmah, who is also PPPM president, also spent some time visiting the residents at their housing units and hoped that the contribution would help to ease their burden.
Also present were the Raja Puan Muda of Perak Raja Nor Mahani Raja Shahar Shah, who is PPPM deputy president, Bandar Tun Razak Umno division leader Datuk Rizalman Mokhtar and Serdang Umno leader Datuk Mohd Fathil Daud.
