The decomposing bodies of two sisters who were found in their home in Kampung Pulau Meranti in Beruas, Perak yesterday are still undergoing post-mortem.
Beruas police chief, Sonyruddin Darus said the police were still unable to confirm the cause of death until the post-mortem is completed.
“The bodies are still undergoing post-mortem at Ipoh Hospital. We are still waiting for the results from the hospital.
“Until then, we are unable to confirm anything,” he told Astro AWANI when contacted today, adding that no time frame has been given at this point.
The rotting bodies of rubber tappers Salmiah Yaakob, 76, and Salasiah, 71, were discovered in their homes in Ladang Kelapa Sawit, Sungai Beruas by their nephew around 9.30am yesterday.
Mazlan Yunus, 52, drove from Ipoh to visit his aunts who were single and lived together.
When no one greeted him when he hooted his car, he went to the back of the house and found the kitchen door ajar.
He got the shock of his life upon seeing his ‘Mak Ngah’ Salmiah on the floor, her mouth gagged with a piece of cloth. Her body was infested with maggots.
He then stumbled upon his ‘Mak Lang’ Salasiah’s body, slumped on the easy chair in the living room, her tongue protruding.
The bodies were found in a state of undress.
Police believe the sisters had been dead for some five days before their bodies were discovered.
