The Road Transport Department (RTD) will likely suspend the public service vehicle (PSV) licence of motorists who commit three major offences during its enforcement operations in conjunction with this year's Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration.
RTD director-general Datuk Seri Nadzri Siron said the three offences were driving on the emergency lane, over speeding and middle lane hogging.
He said RTD personnel would go undercover as passengers on 308 express bus coaches to detect any violation of traffic regulations.
"If the drivers are found to have committed the offences, we will detain them at the rest and recreation areas and issue summonses, instead of doing that at the end of the journey," he added.
Nadzri was speaking to reporters after conducting aerial surveillance during the 'Enforcement Op' with PLUS, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration on Friday.
The operations, running from Jan 21 to Feb 5 involve 1,148 RTD personnel.
