Rumours that two missing mountain climbers had died not true - expedition leader
Two climbers, Syed Redzuan Syed Salim Shatri and Ramli Abd Majid were reported missing on Mt Damavand since Sunday after being separated from other team members.
The head of the expedition on Sunday denied rumours that two Malaysian mountain climbers reported missing since last Sunday had died at Mount Damavand in Iran.
Rozaimi Mohd Said, the leader of the expedition denied the rumours as baseless.
"I want to strongly deny such rumours. I also urge everyone to remain calm and not spread any rumours," he said in a statement.
Rozaimi said the search and rescue team would continue the search for the two Malaysians.
"The family members of the missing duo are with me in Reyneh. They are terribly disturbed by such rumours," he said.
