KUALA LUMPUR: Five agencies under the Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB) will channel financial aid worth RM5.44 million to entrepreneurs and small traders who have been affected by the Movement Control Order 3.0.
Minister of Rural Development Datuk Dr Abd Latiff Ahmad said the aid package will be given from August to December 2021 and will benefit 3,815 people.
"Generally, incentives given by the Wilayah Development Board are exempted from paying business premise rent, quit rent, and come with the postponement of house rent and loan payment, as well as the restructuring and expansion of the agency's entrepreneurship programme," the minister said in a media statement.
The move to give the aid is a follow-up to the National People's Well-Being and Economic Recovery Package (PEMULIH) to help those affected by MCO 3.0.
The five KPLB agencies involved in giving the financial aid are Kedah Development Board, Johor Tenggara Development Board, South Kelantan Development Board, Central Terengganu Development Board and Penang Development Board.
