Saarani promises to heal 'wound' in Perak PN

KUALA KANGSAR:The new Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Saarani Mohamad today gave his commitment to addressing weaknesses in relations with the parties involved in forming the Perikatan Nasional government in Perak under his leadership.

The Perak UMNO Liaison Committee chairman, who is also Kota Tampan assemblyman, said he would try to heal any existing ‘wound’ in Perak PN.

"When the top leadership of the three parties involved decided to form the state government yesterday, it means that we are ready to work together,” he said at his first news conference after being sworn in as the new Menteri Besar before the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah at Istana Iskandariah, here, today.

Last Friday, Bersatu deputy president, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu failed to obtain majority support as menteri besar following a motion of vote of confidence tabled by Datuk Abd Manap Hashim (BN-Pengkalan Baru).

Saarani said he would uphold Sultan Nazrin’s command in the ruler’s speech during the swearing-in ceremony that the political crisis not be prolonged as the COVID-19n pandemic could have a worse impact on the people.

"I will carry out my duty of ensure that the leadership line-up would do what His Royal Highness has decreed,” he added
