The Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on illegal immigrants in Sabah will resume its proceedings in two sessions from July 15 to 19, and July 22 to 25.
RCI secretary Datuk Saripuddin Kasim said the proceedings would be resumed at the Federal Court here.
So far 171 witnesses have testified before the commission during eight sessions since January, he said in a statement here today.
In March, the Yang diPertuan Agong had consented to extend the term of the Commission for six months, from March 21 to Sept 20.
The commission is headed by former Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak, Tan Sri Steve Shim Lip Kiong. The panel members comprise former Universiti Malaysia Sabah vice-chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Kamaruzzaman Ampon; former Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Henry Chin Poy Wu; former Sabah State Secretary Datuk KY Mustapha and former Sabah deputy chief minister Tan Sri Herman J Luping, who is also former Sabah Attorney-General.
