Sabahans moving to Peninsular Malaysia should inform the state information office - Kurup

Sabahans who have moved to the mainland must inform the state information office to ease the process of providing assistance if needed.

Momogun Society of Sabahan (MSS) president Tan Sri Joseph Kurup said throughout last year seven Sabahans were identified in the Klang Valley as homeless and later rescued by MSS.

"I am proud to note that many Sabahans who have moved to the mainland have been successful in their endeavours and some have progressed. However, there are some who come without any direction or purpose.

"I therefore urge all Sabahans who wished to 'migrate' be responsible and inform the state information office about their intention or purpose. This will enable us to assist when they are in need of assistance," he told reporters here Sunday.

Kurup who also Minister in the Prime Minister's Department was met after meeting about 300 MSS members in Selangor.

MSS which started in the Peninsula in 2013 is aimed at securing the welfare of Sabahans.

MSS currently has 5,000 members throughout the country and in Selangor and the Klang Valley there are about 3,000, he said. -- Bernama
