The people of Sabah must maintain their multi racial, cultural and religious unity to ensure continual harmony, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.

He said the people of various races and religions in the state also needed to appreciate each other.

"All the people in Sabah are always together and cultural differences have never been an abstacle. Instead diversity further enhances the relationship of each ethnic group," he said when officiating the dragon, unicorn and lion dance festival 2017 here today.

Also present were the Chinese consular in Kota Kinabalu, Chen Pie Jie and several state cabinet ministers.

On the festival, Musa said it was organised to help further promote the cultural heritage of the Chinese community in the state.

"The state government will continue to support and encourage the holding of any cultural events in the state," he said and announced an allocation of RM50,000 for the festival. - BERNAMA
