Former UMNO Treasurer, Datuk Seri Salleh Tun Said Keruak has been selected among the party's 31 candidates for the Sabah State Election (PRN) on September 26.
He will contest in his old seat in Usukan, Kota Belud after the announcement by Sabah UMNO Liaison Chairman, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin today.
Apart from him, another old face presented by UMNO this time is Datuk Kamarlin Ombi.
Meanwhile, Bung Moktar in his press conference, also stressed that his party has kept its promise by presenting at least 95 per cent new faces for the nomination.
"We have exceeded the target where previously we promised about 85 per cent new faces only.
"With this announcement, 95 per cent have been presented as new candidates," he said.
However, Salleh was not seen at the ceremony announcing the candidates held at The Magellan Sutera Harbor here, on Thursday.
For the record, the 31 candidates are Akram Ismail (Banggi), Harun Durabi (Bengkoka), Sufian Abdul Karim (Pitas), Mohd Arsad Bistari (Tempasuk), Datuk Seri Salleh Said (Usukan), Jasnih Daya (Pantai Dalit), Datuk Yakub Khan (Karambunai), Datuk Jumat Idris (Darau), Mohd Reduan Aklee (Tanjung Aru), Shahelmey Yahya (Tanjung Keramat), Mohd Tamin Zainal (Pantai Manis), Awang Lahap Awang Bakar (Bongawan), Datuk Kamarlin Ombi (Lumadan), Sani Miasin (Sindumin), Datuk Raime Unggi (Kemabong), Abdul Wahab Abdul Ghani (Telupid), Datuk James Ratib (Sugut), Suhaimi Nasir (Gum-Gum), Mokran Ingkat (Sungai Manila), Mohamad Hamsan Awang Supian (Sungai Sibuga), Hazulizah Md Dani (Sekong), Datuk Juhari Janan (Kuamut), Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin (Lamag), Datuk Jafry Ariffin (Sukau), Momen Anchai (Tungku), Halid Harun (Kunak), Abdul Manan Indanan (Sulabayan ), Hamild Awang (Balung), Chaya Sulaiman (Kukusan), Andi Muhamad Surady Bandy (Tanjung Batu) and Junaidi Sahat (Paginatan).
Earlier, Bung Moktar also revealed that Barisan Nasional (BN) components and allies will announce their list of candidates and their seats separately.
Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) which is also a BN partner is expected to announce their list at about 3 pm today at their headquarters in Kota Kinabalu.
