Samsung unveils new Galaxy A series

Vice President, IT and Mobile Business Unit, Lee Jui Siang, said Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 were the latest models in the Malaysian market and would complement the needs of connected millenials who crave spontaneity and seek life's pleasures in the most fulfilling way.

"For the first time in the Galaxy A Series, we make the 2017 variants to be dust and water resistant," he said at the launch here, today.

He said the two devices were the first in Samsung's mid-range smartphone to carry the IP68 dust and water resistance rating.

The devices are also equipped with enhanced 16 megapixel front and rear camera with f1.9 lens and light+ camera feature for sharper images and beautiful shots even in low light or at night, and has a new feature -- floating camera button which can be moved freely on the screen.

The new Galaxy A Series (2017) has also been upgraded into full HD 5.7-inch and 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen displays.

Other features include bigger batteries - 3,600mAh for A7 and 3,000mAh for A5, fast-charging capabilities, expandable storage up to 256GB, always-on display, secure folder and Samsung Cloud.

Available in Black Sky and Gold Sand, the models will be available at all Samsung brand store nationwide from Jan 25 onwards at a recommended retail price of RM1,899 for Galaxy A7 and RM1,699 for Galaxy A5 inclusive of Goods and Services Tax.

The pre-order of the new additions can be done at selected outlets from Jan 6-15 and collection will start on Jan 25.
