Malaysian Crime Watch Task Force (MyWatch) chairman Datuk R. Sri Sanjeevan has urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to look into Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar's brother being a director of a shooting academy.
Sanjeevan today lodged a report to the MACC wanting them to investigate a firearm company, purportedly linked to the IGP's brother, Datuk Abdullah Abu Bakar.
Sanjeevan also produced some documents from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), which showed Abdullah is one of the four directors of the company.
"We urge MACC to investigate if a conflict of any sorts, exist in the approval of a license to the company. Did Khalid approve the issuance of license to Unggul Shooting Academy Sdn Bhd and if the company has been awarded any government contracts.
"We also urge MACC to investigate the origin of the RM400,000 paid-up capital as stated in the SSM documents," he told reporters after lodging the report at the MACC office here today.
Sanjeevan claimed that the company was registered on November 1, 2013 -- six months after Khalid was appointed as IGP.
"We also want an investigation to be made on a firearms company, Nilai Arms & Ammunitions Sdn Bhd (NAA) that owns by IGP's daughter, whether it had any relationship between the two companies," he said.
Sanjeevan also said that he would disclose evidence in the form of a video to the media next month on the alleged misconduct by the IGP.
