The father of MyWatch chairman R Sri Sanjeevan – whose condition is now again 'critical' – said that wished to meet the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) in person to ‘reveal something’.

“Once my son is okay, and is discharged, I think I will want to meet with the present IGP (Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar). I need to reveal something to him,” P. Ramakrishnan, 64, told Astro AWANI, in a telephone conversation.

However, the insurance agent did not wish to elaborate on what information he wanted to pass on, saying that he was unable to share certain things to the public through the media.

Ramakrishnan said that he was confident with Khalid's leadership, but added that “there are people in the police force I don’t trust”.

Ramakrishnan was now at the Serdang Hospital keeping vigil with other family members over his 29-year-old son, who was shot on Saturday by two gunmen on a motorcycle in Jempol.

“I am confident with the IGP. His statement says it very clearly. I am confident that they will solve this problem... but there are people in the police force I don’t trust," he said, adding that Khalid was a “very efficient person” and works well, like former IGP Tan Sri Musa Hassan.

Ramakrishnan pointed to a “contradictory” statement by Negeri Sembilan police chief Osman Salleh. “He claimed that my son did not lodge a report on his death threat but I am very sure that he did. I am not very happy with that,” said the former DAP member and former legal clerk.

On the current condition of Sanjeevan, who has now been transferred to the Serdang Hospital, Ramakrishnan said that it has somewhat deteriorated from yesterday, when he was said to have stabilised.

“Condition still remains as it is... critical, they are trying to stabilise him, then only we can go for an operation to remove the bullet,” he said.

The single bullet which hit Sanjeevan, is lodged in his ribcage. It had apparently pierced through his right arm and had damaged both his liver and lungs.

“Yesterday he was better, but today is a bit worse, due to leakage in the liver,” he said.
Sanjeevan was moved to the Serdang hospital about an hour ago.

Ramakrishnan also shared moments he last time he saw Sanjeevan: on the day he was shot.

“He was having lunch with me and he was home before he went out again. Not long after, we heard he was shot... my daughter, my wife, they told me. I rushed to the hospital, shocked, standing, I don’t know what to do, and he was losing a lot of blood.”

Ramakrishnan also revealed that Sanjeevan had recently told the family that he wanted to install CCTVs at the house and hire security guards.

“We were talking about it as he said that he was worried about our safety, but now it is he who is in the hospital.”

Ramakrishnan said that he was fully aware of Sanjeevan’s controversial work in MyWatch and the family supported him

“The mother used to advice, asking why you have to be involved in all this as it is not his job, but he said to her, if everybody doesn’t care, then who is going to help the people? We were concerned, but we all support him.”
