KUCHING: The Sarawak civil service will become one of the 'engines' that will propel the state to achieve the goals under its Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030).

Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg expressed his confidence in the potential of the state civil service in delivering the aspired results.

However, he admitted that managing the strategy is a tough and challenging task.

"The people in the civil service are innovative and can see far, so you (civil servants) are the machine to achieve that (PCDS 2030) and I am the driver. I can drive the car well, if the engine is good," he said.

Speaking at the Sarawak Civil Service Innovation Convention Awards here last night, Abang Johari said the success of PCDS 2030 will help to turn Sarawak into a developed state with high-income economy by 2030.

"Through technology, it will give you a sound result that will be very positive and perhaps, (create) new ways of how you manage the task given to you, same goes to PCDS 2030," he said.
