Sarawak floods: Two more evacuation centres closed

Another two flood evacuation centres were closed this afternoon, one each in Samarahan and Serian districts.

Sarawak Civil Defence Department public relation officer Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim said the number of flood victims at the eight evacuation centres that were still opened had also declined to 1,553.

She said as of 4 pm today, only 1,553 people from 466 families were still at the centres compared to 643 from 479 families in 10 evacuation centres as of noon.

At 4 pm, 150 people from 16 families were still at the evacuation centre in Kuching district while 1,403 people from 450 families were housed at the seven evacuation centres in Serian district.
