Sarawak Polls: PDP president faces eight-cornered tussle in Dudong

SIBU: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing faces an eight-cornered fight for the Dudong seat in the 12th Sarawak State Election.
The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate, who is also the Bintulu Member of Parliament, will be up against five candidates from opposition parties and two Independents.
The seven are Wong Hie Ping of Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB), Jane Lau Sung Yee of Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK), Julius Enchana of Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB), Paul Ling Fung of DAP, Josephine Lau Kiew Peng of Parti Aspirasi Rakyat Sarawak (Aspirasi) as well as Independents Fadhil Mohd Isa and Engga Uncat.
The Dudong seat will see the most number of candidates contesting in the election this time and the candidates eligible to contest were announced by returning officer Abdul Razak Awang Bini.
The candidates also arrived at the nomination centre accompanied by their respective proposers and seconders as early as 7.36 am.
The nomination process went smootly and there were no untoward incidents.
