Three individuals arrested early Saturday morning to assist police investigation following several police reports made against Sarawak Report editor, Clare Rewcastle Brown have been released the same day on police bail.

This was confirmed by Bukit Aman Public Relation Officer, Datin Asmawati through a statement on late Saturday night.

The three individuals arrested were former Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) advisor, Tan Sri Datuk Rashpal Singh; Attorney-General’s Chambers finance and anti-money laundering secretariat member Jessica Gurmeet Kaur and MACC deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Sazilee Abdul Khairi.

Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar in a statement earlier said that police have recorded statement from all three individuals regarding Clare’s report which contained defamatory elements.

Police investigation was also focused on the issue of the disclosure of official government information.

Meanwhile, several officers from Bank Negara and commercial banks will be called to aid in police investigation.
