School bus overturned in Hulu Langat, one dead

A secondary school student was killed while three others suffered serious injuries when a school bus overturned after losing control at a curve along a slope at Hulu Langat on Monday.
The deceased was identified as 17-year old Chin Yeong Peng.
Thirty-six people were on board the bus comprising 34 students, one teacher and the bus driver.
“All of them were in still in bus the when arrived. We managed to get thirty of them out while six others were trapped. We used rescue tools and jacks to lift the bus up and rescued them. One victim died on the spot,” Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Mohd Sani Harul told Astro AWANI.
The overturned bus was among four buses ferrying Catholic High School Petaling Jaya prefects who are on a school retreat.
According to Astro AWANI reporter Abdul Hakim Rahman, the school bus was on its way downhill from a resort towards a restaurant when the incident happened at 2.06pm.
A first bus leading the convoy managed to navigate through the curved road. However, the second bus went out of control and overturned.
The injured were rushed to the Ampang Hospital.
