Schools only postponed for one week - Education Ministry

The Education Ministry has denied reports stating that the 2015 school term has been postponed for one month.
"The Education Ministry denies the false information spread on various social media platforms which stated that school terms have been postponed for one month. School term has only been postponed for one week," said education director-general Datuk Seri Dr. Khair Mohamad Yusof in a statement, today.
Schools in Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Johor will begin on January 11, 2015 (Sunday) while schools in other states will begin on January 12, 2015 (Monday).
The ministry urged parents and members of the public who wished for more information to contact the ministry or to log on to its website.
It has also informed the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission to investigate the matter and for immediate action to be taken on those responsible for spreading the rumour.
