Search and rescue operation for missing chopper carrying VIPs continues

A thorough search and rescue (SAR) operation for the missing RPC 6828 helicopter that went missing Thursday evening has begun since 6am today.
Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Seri Muhammad Sabtu Osman said an earlier SAR mission was also carried out last night.
He said the police will be working with all parties in finding the missing chopper, believed to be carrying several VIPs while flying from Betong to Kuching in Sarawak.
The helicopter took off from Betong at 4.12pm on Thursday before losing contact at 4.32pm near Sebuyau.
The duration of the flight would usually take about 35 minutes.
The helicopter was reported to be carrying five passengers, including two members of Parliament where one of them believed to be a member of the Cabinet.
