The search and rescue (SAR) operation to find the headmistress of Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Keramat, who has been missing over the past 10 days, is focused on areas around six streams in Kampung Buluh Telur.

Hulu Selangor Police chief Supt R. Supramaniam said the search for the missing headmistress, Jashiah Rabu, 53, was being mounted by a 61 personnel from the police, Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defence Department, Malaysian Veteran Commando and Volunteers Department, as well as local residents.

"The team has been divided into six groups to focus on the search around the six streams. We really hope that Jashiah will be found safe within the next couple of days," he told Bernama here.

Supramaniam said 30 'Talian Hayat' (emergency food) packs containing biscuits, candy bar, bread, candle and matches, would be placed at certain search areas marked by the police.

"One food pack will be placed at every 300 metres along the search areas to help Jashiah to survive before we find her," he said.

Meanwhile, a volunteer, Khairul Annuar, 63, who came out with the 'Talian Hayat' idea, said he got the idea after being involved in several SAR operations.

"I just hope Jashiah can recharge her energy for at least another 24 hours when she found the 'Talian Hayat' pack.

"Apart from the food, Jashiah will also find an instruction note in the pack which we hope she will use to guide us to her or to help her find her way out of the forest," he said.

Jashiah was last seen by her neighbours on Oct 23 after leaving her house in Taman Seri Seruling on foot, and by hitching a ride for a distance of about 10km to an Orang Asli village before being seen heading towards the forest reserve.
