A second landslide occurred in Cameron Highlands on Tuesday, killing an Indonesian migrant worker, police said on Wednesday.
The landslide smashed into a 'kongsi' (workers' quarters) at a vegetable farm in Jalan Desa Corina, Kampung Raja, at 5.30 pm, trapping the worker, Zainullah, 27, said Cameron Highlands Police chief DSP Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu.
He said the body of Zainullah was recovered about two metres deep in the debris at 11.38 pm by search-and-rescue personnel and sent to the Sultanah Hajah Kalsom Hospital in Tanah Rata.
Nine other Indonesian fellow workers who had been resting with Zainullah at that time escaped unhurt, he added.
The first landslide on Tuesday occurred at 5.30 am at Km46 Jalan Brinchang-Tringkap, killing an eight-month pregnant woman M. Nitiahwaty, 24, and her year-old son R. Rubeniswaran.
Nitiahwaty's husband, V. Raja, 41, was buried up to the chest in the debris and fractured his left leg. He was rescued by fire and rescue personnel at 7.15 am.
