ZULKIFLI: The male patient is being monitored and there's no cause for worry
After the ebola 'scare' in Perak last week, doctors in Kuching are now monitoring a suspected case of Ebola, Sarawak health director Datuk Dr Zulkifli Jantan confirmed.
“Yes, investigations are being carried out. No details yet. He is only a suspect,” the Malay Mail Online quoted him as saying in a report today.
He said health officials were monitoring the patient, and that there was no cause for alarm.
According to the portal, the patient is believed to be an African male suffering from a fever.
This is the second suspected case of Ebola in Malaysia with the first being in Perak last week. However, the case was subsequently proven to be negative.
The Ebola outbreak in West Africa is the world’s most deadliest outbreak to date and has caused more than 2,000 deaths this year.
