The Selangor government today unveiled a RM272 million Selangor Prihatin 2.0 Economic Stimulus Package, raising the total to RM400 million to address the COVID-19 impact, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

This is in addition to the Selangor Economic Stimulus Package that he announced on March 20.

In a special announcement today, the Sungai Tua State Assemblyman said the Selangor Prihatin 2.0 package was designed based on two key challenges on how to combat COVID-19 from spreading and addressing current and post-pandemic economic challenges.

Through the Selangor Prihatin 2.0 package themed - "Whole of Government, Whole of Society Approach", Amirudin said he and all the Selangor exco members and assemblymen would take a cut in salaries to be channelled to the COVID-19 Special Fund, at an estimated RM8.07 million.

In addition, he said Selangor would allocate RM1.35 million for the COVID-19 screening process or mass test in identified hotspots or red zones.

"COVID-19 screenings or mass tests will be carried out in hotspots or red zones that have been identified in Selangor, with a target of 5,000 people, costing RM1.35 million," he added.
