Starting January 1 next year, the 'No Plastic Bag Day' previously held only on every Saturday in Selangor, will be extended to seven days a week.

This means, traders in the state will no longer provide free plastic bags to consumers in conjunction with the #BebasPlastik campaign launched today.

At the event held at the Bangunan Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah (SSAAS) here, State Tourism, Consumer Affairs and Environment Exco, Elizabeth Wong said, from January 1, 2017, the supply of polystyrene food containers also will no longer be available.

This, she said, is in accordance with the state government's policy of no plastic and polystyrene.
