Selangor folks took advantage of the state holiday in conjunction with the Nuzul Quran to flock the city to shop for the upcoming Aidilfitri.
Bernama checks found that shopping malls were crowded and almost all roads were badly congested, especially around Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Masjid India and Jalan Chow Kit.
Milda Collection boutique owner Milda Razali, 46, said the sales of traditional attires at her boutique had increased tremendously today than any other days.
"On normal days, we don't have that many customers, they usually flocked our boutique on weekends.
"But today, the boutique was over-crowded with customers, they can't even move freely to the fitting room," she told Bernama.
Junia Rasirman, 50, a staff at Harison store, said most of the customers who flocked the store today were looking for ready-made baju Melayu and baju kurung.
"In the early month of Ramadan, customers preferred textiles, but of late, they have more tendency to but ready-made attires for fear that their tailors would not be able to complete their orders before Hari Raya," she said.
Salina Ishak, 39, a primary school teacher in Hulu Selangor, said although the many stores in the city were crowded, it did not dampen her determination to shop for her Raya necessities.
"Despite having trouble moving in many of the stores, I managed to buy the things I need for myself and my family," she said.
