Selangor's failure to manage its waste is seen as the main reason the state was listed as the highest with dengue cases.
Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar said this brings to fear of Zika virus spreading in the state.
"Selangor is currently the highest with dengue cases. It might even be highest with Zika cases next," he warned.
"Waste management in Selangor is a terrible problem. Why? Because the state refuses to implement the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Act 2007 (Act 672)," he told reporters at Taman Medan Cahaya, here, today.
He said the federal government was forced to pull back the solid waste management license issued to Alam Flora in Selangor following the state's refusal to implement Act 672.
