Selangor Wanita UMNO wants stern action to be taken against Teresa Kok

Selangor Wanita Umno called on the authorities to take stern action against Seputeh Member of Parliamment Teresa Kok over the latter's Chinese New Year video clip as it could cause disharmony among the people. Its chief Datuk Nor Hayati Onn said it was an irresponsible act on the part of the MP to come up with such a video clip, more so when the Chinese community were celebrating their new year. "In this festive atmosphere, Teresa should be sensitive about what she is doing. Although it is just a Chinese New Year video clip, why should it have provocative elements, including what happened in Lahad Datu," she said in statement here. She added that such action would serve as a deterrent to others not to publish insensitive materials. Teresa, who is also DAP vice chairman, is alleged to have uploaded the video clip titled 'Onederful Malaysia CNY 2014 Video Clip' on YouTube on January 27. The 11.39-minute video portrayed Kok as a feng shui host interviewing three panelists regarding the CNY and their feng shui predictions. The panelists in the video poked fun on a variety of issues such as the current education system in Malaysia, and the issue of terrorist intrusion in Lahad Datu, Sabah last year, among others. Meanwhile, three non-governmental organisations, Pertubuhan Martabat Jalinan Muhibbah Malaysia (MJMM), Ikatan Rakyat Insan Muslim Malaysia and Persatuan Veteran Tentera Melayu (PVTM) filed police reports regarding the same matter at 11.15am on Monday at the Dang Wangi police station here.
