Selangor water agreement terms remain the same - Ongkili

Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister, Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili said the terms of the agreement to restructure the Selangor water industry remain the same.

"No..no.. there is no revision. We have to stick with the agreement signed," he told reporters at the parliament lobby today.

He was commenting on whether there is a review of the terms of the agreement after discussions between the Selangor and the Federal government on Monday.

On the status of two land assets in Bukit Nanas and Semenyih involved in the master agreement, he said it will be determined after more talks are held.

Ongkili said both land assets are owned by the Federal government.

Meanwhile, Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said the state government will continue the water talks for the sake of the people.

Preliminary talks were held between Selangor State Secretary Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi and KeTTHA (ministry) secretary-general Datuk Loo Took Gee. On March 9, Mohamed Azmin said the Selangor government decided to cancel the water agreement claiming the Federal government had violated several terms of the agreement signed last year.
