Selangorku bus service: State govt urged to decide on foreign passengers

Selangor government could not prohibit foreign nationals from boarding the Selangorku buses because they too contributed to the economic development of the country and state.
The Selangor government should decide if it wants to continue to allow foreign workers to have free rides on the Selangorku buses, said a Selangor Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblyman.
"Priority should be given to low-income Malaysians living in Selangor instead of foreigners residing in the state," he told reporters at the lobby of the Selangor State Assembly building, here, today.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali had reportedly said the Selangor government could not prohibit foreign nationals from boarding the Selangorku buses because they too contributed to the economic development of the country and state.
He said the state government should also hold a meeting with taxi associations to establish whether the income of the drivers had been affected after foreigners took the free bus rides.
He also urged the state government to immediately table the Public Transport Master Plan to the assemblymen and stakeholders in an effort to solve the state's traffic problems. - BERNAMA
