The Selangor Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (SELCAT) can probe the establishment of Darul Ehsan Investment Group (DEIG), said Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali.
He said DEIG is not operating as claimed by certain quarters and is undergoing restructuring for good governance.
"Since DEIG has yet to operate, what is there to probe? I want DEIG to practice principles of transparency and this is the assurance of the state government," he said after opening the 5th Malaysia-China Entrepreneurs Conference here, Saturday.
Former Selangor menteri besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim had urged SELCAT to probe DEIG for abuse of power over an alleged bank loan of RM500 million to one of its subsidiary companies.
DEIG was established in December 2014 under Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) to manage the investment, assets and business sectors of state government subsidiary companies.
