'Selfie' and 'wefie' contest in conjunction with 2015 Malaysia Day
Contest participants must upload their photos to Instagram with a hashtag #HariMalaysia2015.
The Sabah Resource Development and Information Technology Ministry and Sabah Cultural Board will organise a 'selfie' and 'wefie' contest in conjunction with the 2015 Malaysia Day.
The contest, open to all Malaysians, started on Sept 1 until Sept 16.
According to a statement from the ministry, the participants need to take photo according to 'selfie' or 'wefie' photo format, with the theme Malaysia Day.
The participants must upload their photos to Instagram with a hashtag #HariMalaysia2015.
The statement said the contestants also must ensure that the images used do not violate any third parties' right, including copyright and not containing any unlawful element.
The winner for each category will take home RM1,000 cash prize, and the photo will be displayed to public at the Padang Merdeka here on Malaysia Day which falls on Sept 16.
The first and second runners-up will receive RM750 and RM500 respectively, while there are five consolation prizes of RM300 for each category.
