Semenyih helicopter crash: Police investigates pilot's financial status

Police investigations into the helicopter crash in Semenyih on April 4, also included the financial position of pilot Captain Clifford William.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said this to reporters after a special Hindu prayer session, in conjunction with the 208th Police Commemoration Day at Sri Kandaswamy Temple, Brickfields here today.
"We will look at several aspects, especially his activities, hobbies or whether he had any problems including financial ... this matter may have affected his performance and focus on flying," he said.
Noor Rashid said the investigation into the helicopter crash was divided into two, whereby police would look into any element of negligence, sabotage and other motives.
In addition, police will also look into the technical aspects on how the helicopter crashed killing all six onboard.
"Forensic examinations take time ... we have also traced witnesses and gathered some information including from the victims' families.

"All bodies have been claimed and we need a technical report from the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) to be reanalyzed," he said.
Moreover, when the technical report is received, police would recall witnesses and pose new questions based on the report.
In the April 4 incident, the AS365N2 Dauphin (9M-IGB) helicopter carrying six people crashed in a rubber plantation in Kampung Sungai Pening, Semenyih at 4.55pm.
Besides Fournier, also killed were Rompin MP and former Malaysian ambassador to the United States, Datuk Seri Jamaluddin Jarjis, Private Secretary General to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Azlin Alias, businessman Datuk Tan Huat Seang, Jamaluddin's personal bodyguard Razakan Seran and a woman known as Aidana Baizieva.
