A team has been formed to investigate the cause of the helicopter crash in Semenyih today, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said.

He said the team would retrieve all evidence at the scene to assist its investigation.

"The team will inspect the scene of the incident, including to retrieve the cockpit recorder in the helicopter for further investigation," he said in a live-telecast interview with private television station, Astro Awani, tonight.

Liow said all the bodies of the six victims in the helicopter crash would be taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem and the process of identifying the bodies was expected to be ready tonight.

The helicopter, carrying six people, including the pilot, crashed in Jalan Sungai Lalang, Kampung Pasir Baru, Semenyih near here at 4.55 pm.

A witness told reporters that the helicopter exploded in mid-air before crashing and exploded again in a rubber estate.

All the bodies of the AS 3655N2 Dauphin (9M-1GB)helicopter crash had been recovered by the search and rescue team, comprising the Fire and Rescue Department and the Civil Defence Department, a few hours after the crash was reported.
