Semporna shooting: ESSCOM Commander confirmed early Sunday incident

The Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) commander Datuk Abdul Rashid Harun confirmed shooting incidents occurred in Semporna, Sabah, during the wee hours of Sunday.
"It started when a suspect opened fire on the security forces that led to the shooting incident," he said during a phone interview with Astro AWANI.
According to a report in The Star newspaper today, police have shot dead a suspect who is allegedly a 'wanted man'.
Abdul Rashid, however refused comment and release any identifying information.
Abdul Rashid is expected to make an announcement at press conference on details of the shootout at the Marine Base in Semporna, 2pm today.
