Senior citizen believed to be murdered during robbery at Kampung Pulai Darat

JASIN: A senior citizen was believed to have been murdered during a robbery in her house at Kampung Pulai Darat, at 2am, here this morning.

Police found the body of Misah Md Amin, 91, who is believed to have been living alone in the house, in the kitchen.

Jasin district acting police chief ACP Mohd Fadzli Othman said police were informed about the incident by neighbours at about 3.54 am.

"The senior citizen was pronounced dead by a medical team that arrived at the scene. The body was later sent to the Jasin Hospital for a post-mortem," he said when contacted today.

Mohd Fadzli said acting on information from members of the public, police managed to detain a 20-year-old suspect who is unemployed, about six hours later near the location.

He added that the suspect had three previous criminal records for robbery while the case will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
