Senior citizen killed in house fire

Perak Fire and Rescue director Yahaya Madis said the victim, Ho Moo Fong, 75, was found with 40 per cent burns on her body outside the house.

The woman was believed to be staying alone in the semi-wooden house, he said when contacted today.

He said the department received a distress call at 4.02 am and 16 firemen in four engines from the Pasir Puteh and Ipoh stations arrived at the scene 10 minutes later.

The firemen managed to control the fire from spreading to nearby houses and the operation was completed at 7.49 am, he added.
