Senior citizen killed with own knife in Tanjong Bungah
SAC Mazlan Kesah said police also found traces of blood on the victim's knife -BERNAMApic
A senior citizen was found dead with several stab wounds in Jalan Loh Poh Heng, Tanjong Bungah here, at 6.30am, Wednesday.
State CID chief SAC Mazlan Kesah said the victim, Ang Cheng Hoo, 64, was found on a road shoulder with stab and slash wounds on his stomach and neck.
"According to his son, Ang often went jogging at 5am and normally returned before 8am. He often brought a knife with him," he told reporters.
He said police also found traces of blood on the victim's knife at the scene of the incident, not far from his house.
The motive of the incident was still under investigation as the victim's wallet and cellphone were untouched, he said.
Mazlan said several of the victim's neighbours heard a quarrel before the incident and they believed the suspect was a man.
He said Ang's body was sent to the Penang Hospital for post-mortem.
Members of the public who had information on the incident were urged to contact the nearest police station, Mazlan added.
