The senior officer of a Labuan federal government agency, who was released yesterday from custody, has been remanded again to assist in the investigation over RM48 million building and infrastructure projects.
Magistrate Hazah Tamin allowed the 59-year-old man to be further remanded for seven days beginning today.
"The application for the new remand order by the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) is regarding the building and infrastructure projects in Labuan," an MACC source told Bernama today.
The case is being investigated under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009.
The MACC source said statements from 17 witnesses had been recorded so far.
The officer was arrested on Nov 21 along with two contractors in their 40s who were released on Friday on MACC bail.
The officer and the contractors were remanded for seven days from last Tuesday to assist in the investigation over a RM12-million food court.
"The investigation on the food court project has been completed," said the source. -- BERNAMA
