Serbegeth 'Shebby' Singh dies of heart attack

KUALA LUMPUR: Former national football player, Serbegeth Singh or better known as Shebby Singh passed away at the age of 61 on Wednesday evening.
Serbegeth was said to have fallen unconscious, believed to be due to shortness of breath, while cycling in Kledang, Johor at about 7.30 pm.
Iskandar Puteri District Police Chief, ACP Dzulkhairi Mukhtar, when contacted confirmed the matter.
He said the police is awaiting a full report to complete its investigation.
Shebby started his career in football as a defensive player for the Johor FA team before moving to the Kuala Lumpur football team in 1983.
He had also played for Negeri Sembilan and Pahang teams before ending his career with Perak in 1996.
Since retiring as a national player, Shebby continued to serve as a coach and host of sports shows in Asia.
He had also served as global advisor of English football club Blackburn Rovers in 2012.
Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) FC also paid tribute to Shebby who had been the club’s technical advisor.
“Johor Darul Ta'zim FC is shocked to learn of the passing of former JDT Technical Advisor and Johor FA and Malaysia player Serbegeth Singh.
“The JDT Family would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of Serbegeth. Rest in peace, Shebby,” it said on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page.
