A total of 340 victims from 64 families affected by the landslide which occurred in Taman Idaman, here have been ordered to evacuate their homes following a landslide early this morning.
The residents would be be temporarily taken to Sekolah Rendah Agama Serendah by authorities to ensure their safety.
Selangor Disaster Management Unit head, Ahmad Fairuz Mohd Yusof said there are risks of subsequent landslides to occur.
Layers of canvas were laid to cover the area as precautionary step to avoid further landslide in the area.
"Weather plays a major factor now and the area has been getting rainfall every day," said Ahmad Fairuz when contacted by Astro AWANI here today.
"Therefore, there will be further soil movements when it rains, hence putting the nearby houses at huge risk," he added.
Public Work Department personnel told Astro AWANI that soil movements have been logged every hour around the affected area.
This has stalled inspections and repair works, said the official.
