The Sessions Court set May 27 to hear the case of controversial sex blogger, Alvin Tan (Tan Jye Yee) and his ex-girlfriend Vivian Lee.
Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee face charges related to the posting on their Facebook account (with Bak Kut Teh...fragrant, delicious and appetizing) which went viral on the social media and created an uproar among the people in the country, especially Muslims.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin said that Vivian Lee in her defence had claimed that Tan had posted the pictures and caption without her knowledge or consent.
The couple were charged under the Sedition Act 1948 for uploading a picture with a caption, "Selamat Berbuka Puasa. (with Bak Kut Teh ... fragrant, delicious and appetizing)" on their Facebook page which had insulted Muslims during the month of Ramadan.
Lee and Tan were jointly charged for the offence but Tan had jumped bail and believed to be the United States.
On April 14, judge Abdul Rashid had ordered Lee to enter her defence.
