Air quality in seven areas remained at unhealthy level as at noon today.

According to the Department of Environment (DOE) website, Nilai recorded the highest Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 138 followed by Bukit Rambai (124), Port Dickson (116) and Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur (115).

Another three areas also recorded an unheatlhy API, namely Seremban (114), Melaka City (111) and Banting (107).

Among areas that recorded moderate API readings are Putrajaya (95), Muar (94), Seri Manjung (81), Kemaman (76), Perai (60) and Jerantut (58).

An API reading of between 0 and 50 is good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (extremely unhealthy) and above 300 (hazardous).
